The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean extends congratulations to The Water Resources Authority of Jamaica, as our Partner of the Year, 2024. The organisation has been dedicated to advancing sustainable water resource management, through efforts such as capacity building, that has impacted the enhancement of water management practices throughout the region.
Within the framework of the implementation of the Project "Reversing the trends of Ecosystem and Water Resources Degradation in the Volta River Basin (REWarD - Volta River Basin)", financed by GEF and executed by VBA and GWP-WA in close collaboration with UNEP and IUCN, a small technical team coordinated by GWP-WA met in Koudougou from February 19 to 24, 2024, to update the Communication Strategy and Action Plan 2018-2020 drawn up in 2028.

On 8 October 2024, nearly 300 members of the GWP Network came together virtually for the annual Network Meeting. This important event brought Partners from 91 countries to reflect on achievements and discuss the development of GWP’s 2026-2030 Strategy. It also introduced a new voting mechanism, designed to enhance Partner participation, which will soon be piloted.
On Wednesday 4 October 2023, GWP and IW:Learn hosted an online session on multi-stakeholder regional dialogues, focusing on the critical enabling factors that contribute to their success, and how they positively impact transboundary water cooperation.
