The ninth (9^th) session of the IWRM Experts Comity of the Economic Commission of West African States (ECOWAS) was held in Lomé, Togo on 19 and 20 February 2015. The meeting was called to exchange on the evolution of IWRM in the region and review the ECOWAS/WRCC work plan for 2015.

The “Financing of sustainable water resources management and development: economics, financing opportunities and project preparation” is the focus of high-level regional training and knowledge exchange in Pretoria, South Africa from the 21st -24th July, 2014. 27 Delegates from African countries and River Basin Organisations working in the water are meeting to increase their knowledge and skills, to attract investors and financial development partners for both water governance and water infrastructure development.

GWP WAF took part in the Volta Basin Authority’s (VBA) workshop to validate the baseline study on the socio economic and environmental situation of the basin updated with a focus on the hydrological network to establish a network for the maintenance.

AMCOW Executive Secretary Bai Mass Taal delivered a statement from Her Excellency Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, President of the Republic of Liberia and Patron of Global Water Partnership, at the opening ceremony of World Water Week 2014:

The fifth National Training Workshop related to the implementation of the WACDEP Capacity Development Programme on the “Economics of Adaptation Water Security and Climate Resilience Development” was held in Maputo-Mozambique on the 09 - 10 April 2015, at the National Director of Water Affairs (DNA) premises. The opening was done by the Deputy National Director for Water, Mr. Hélio Banze.

GWP CACENA Regional Council Meeting was held on 23-25 December 2013 in Tbilisi, Georgia. The Regional Council Members considered the following main five items:

- Joining the Country Water Partnership of Mongolia into GWP CACENA network;

-  GWP CACENA regional work program and budget for 2014;

- GWP CACENA Calendar of Events for 2014;

- Climate Change Adaptation Program for the period 2013-2015 (funded by GWPO);

- Organizational issues.

The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) will be hosting a National Stakeholder Consultation in Trinidad on April 16^th, 2014 which forms part of a global consultation exercise to get country level feedback from twenty-six (26) countries on proposals for a dedicated Water Goal in the United Nations (UN) Post-2015 Development Agenda.

The Global Water Partnership (GWP) has published its Annual Report for 2014, highlighting the Network’s achievements across all its thirteen (13) Regional Water Partnerships (RWPs) which includes the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C).

As part of a two-day Meeting of Regional Partners in Water and Wastewater, GWP Caribbean, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Caribbean Regional Coordinating Unit (UNEP-CAR/RCU) and the Global Environment Facility’s Caribbean Regional Fund for Wastewater Management (GEF CReW) partnered to host a special Knowledge Sharing Session on New Tools and Resources for Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in the Caribbean.
