UNECE Water Convention a Foundation for Water Cooperation

International Conference on Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation for Food and Environmental Security organised by SEARCA (APAN Thematic Node on Agriculture)

The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), together with the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), is pleased to announce an extension of the call for abstracts for the International Conference on Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation for Food and Environmental Security. The new deadline for submission of abstracts will be 16 September 2012. The conference will be held on 21-22 November 2012 at SEARCA, College, Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines with a one-day field trip within the Southern Tagalog Region on 23 November 2012.

Caribbean Voices at the 2012 GWP Consulting Partners Meeting

Each year, the Global Water Partnership (GWP) holds its Consulting Partners (CP) Meeting, where it brings together all its Regional Water Partnerships (RWPs) and partners from more than 160 countries. Bangladesh Water Partnership assists in Training of Trainers (ToT) on IWRM Practices

A training program on “Training of Trainers (ToT) on IWRM Practices for District Level Water Managers” was organised by the Centre for Environmental and Geographic Information Services (CEGIS), with financial assistance from Bangladesh Water Partnership (BWP) and South-west Area Integrated Water Resources Planning and Management Project (SWAIWRPMP). The training program was held from 9th to 14th June 2012

First step taken towards water cooperation in Myanmar

Aiming to sow the seeds of cooperation on water and to forge links across sectors, GWP Myanmar, the Myanmar Irrigation Department and the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation brokered a meeting in August 2012 where government agencies, NGOs and journalists met to discuss water, energy and food security.
