World Water Day 2014 marks a big day for Global Water Partnership (GWP). Not only is the network taking part in the worldwide UN campaign to raise awareness on water-related issues – as it does every year – but this time GWP is also launching its new Strategy on this very day.

At the invitation of Mr. Wouter Arriens, GWP TEC Member and Senior Advisor of the Asia-Pacific Center of Water Security (APCWS), Mr. Zheng Rugang and Ms. Ma Yilin visited APCWS in Tsinghua University on May 28, 2014.

The workshop on the mobilization of Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) experts for reshaping hydrological norms was held in Douala, Cameroon from October 20th to 21st, 2015.

This workshop was implemented within the framework of the project known as RESIHYST Africa Project “Hydrological standards reviewing for resilient hydraulic infrastructure to climate change in Africa “. It was organized by UNESCO in collaboration with the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS).

This workshop brought together ECCAS’ experts in database management, GWP-CAf expert officials from ministries of water, transport, public works and focal points of International Hydrological programme (IHP) from Burundi, Cameroon, Chad, Central African Republic, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Sao Tome and Principe as well as representatives of universities and hydrological research center.

The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean's (GWP-C's) Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP) for the Caribbean is being implemented through 4 interrelated components with 8 work packages.

The formulation of Zimbabwe’s National Climate Change Response Strategy (NCCRS) process that began in 2012 finally came to an end on 15^th July, 2014 at a multi stakeholder meeting that brought together 62 participants from different Ministries, partner organisations and other relevant departments. A key milestone of this meeting was the adoption of the NCCRS by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Climate.

Registration is now open for the 1st African Water Integrity Summit in Lusaka, Zambia. The summit is co-hosted by UNDP-Water Governance Facility, The Water Integrity Network, UNDP/Cap-Net, WaterNet and Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI). - Register now!

On the 24th of May 2015, in Dakar, Senegal, GWPSA was presented at a validation workshop of the draft Priority Action Plan (PAP) for addressing Transboundary Water Resources Management. The workshop went towards the process of mainstreaming the African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW) Strategic Framework on Water Security and Climate Resilient Development. The workshop was attended by Representatives from the following organisations; African Union Commission (AUC), AMCOW Secretariat, AMCOW-TAC Chair and TAC Vice Chairs Regional Economic Communities (RECs), River and Lake Basin Organisations (R/LBOs) and Global Water Partnership.

In Burkina Faso the first version of the 'Preparatory report on national consultations on water and food security" is completed. The national sharing and validation workshop is planned for late August 2015. The Country Water Partnership is discussing with the appropriate Ministry for the joint organization of the workshop.

In Mali the National Consultation Workshop on Water and Food Security in Mali, led by CWP MALI has already been organized. A follow up meeting for the ownership of the content of the report is scheduled with the Ministry for Food Security and a number of technical services in Mali to make sure the country has a contribution to the next CSA meeting in Rome.
