The Eastern area of Tucuman province was faced with significant problems of contaminated water. Extensive research was done, involving universities, and a project was carried out, applying the aspects of IWRM within the areas of technical solutions, institutional arrangements of future water supply operation. This case study highlights the importance of conducting research prior to a project to attain sufficient information.
Responding to the invitation of Member States, a High-Level Interactive Dialogue during the sixty-seventh session of the General Assembly in New York on 22 March 2013 World Water Day, was held at the same time as the official celebrations in The Hague, to mark the 2013 International Year of Water cooperation and the twentieth anniversary of World Water Day (A/67/204).
In 2000, GWP developed the IWRM ToolBox. Broadly defined, the ToolBox consists of a wide range of materials such as case studies and reference documents dealing with water resource management.

The precipitation is disproportionally distributed being the highest in west and north; summers are warm across the country. Most of Ukraine consists of fertile plains and plateaus. In terms of natural resources, it is among other materials rich in iron ore, coal, manganese, natural gas and oil.
