The Global Water Partnership (GWP), represented by Mr. Alex Simalabwi, CEO of the Global Water Partnership Organisation (GWPO) and Executive Secretary of the Global Water Partnership (GWP), played a leading role at the AWSISA Africa & Global South Water & Sanitation Dialogue, held from 9–12 November 2025 at Emperors Palace, Johannesburg.
The meeting of the Ministers in charge of Water Resources and Sanitation of the Member States of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) was held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, on 12 July 2024, under the Chair of Ms Justine GOSSE, Chargée d'Affaires a. i. at the Embassy of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire in Burkina Faso, representing the Minister of Water and Forests and the Minister of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire.
In a bit to strengthen climate resilience and secure sustainable access to water, the Kingdom of Eswatini held a high-level Capacity Needs Assessment Workshop on 9 May 2025. Organised by the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs (NDA) and the Ministry of Natural Resources & Energy -Department of Water Affairs, with technical support from Joint River Basin Authorities Project Board and the Global Water Partnership Southern Africa as a delivery partner, the event was part of the African Union’s efforts in supporting Member States in developing Climate-Resilient Water Investment Programmes.
