14 April 2014, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia: Climate change adaptation is the focus of high-level regional training and knowledge exchange in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia this month. African government ministerial representatives from more than 30 least developed African countries are meeting to consider National Adaptation Plan (NAP)require-ments, which aim to address the long–term climate change challenges for Africa.

Rwanda-Burundi to Fast-Track WACDEP Implementation

Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP) implementation team from Rwanda and Burundi resolved to fast-track the implementation activities and fill existing gaps identified in the 2013. The commitment was expressed during a joint review and self-assessment meeting bringing together 21 participants in Kigali, Rwanda November, 8th 2013.

Programme in Greece

In Greece the NCWR programme is know as Rainwater Harvesting (RWH). RWH aims at revitalising and reintroducing traditional rainwater harvesting combined with innovative techniques and methods in the Greek islands, as a tool to improve water availability and climate change adaptation at a local level.

Capacity Building on Community-based Adaptation in the Risk and Vulnerable Areas to Extreme Weather in Mae Sot Sub-watershed, Thailand

In Thailand the risk disaster early warning system has been designated by law to the department of the disaster prevention and mitigation.  However, the representation of the department is only at the provincial level. The assistance from the department has been seen as not enough and not in time and communities were stimulated to recognize their own risk and the need to work together to solve or reduce the flood risk.
