The Global Water Partnership (GWP) has appointed Dr. Mohamed Ait Kadi as the new GWP Technical Committee Chair, effective October 1, 2009.
The new GWP Technical Committee Chair Dr. Mohamed Ait Kadi visited the Global Water Partnership secretariat in Stockholm 5-6 October 2009.

A number of well known international organisations and research centers join forces to highlight the role of water in the context of climate change. The newly formed alliance, named the Water and Climate Coalition, is officially launched today at a side event at the climate talks in Bonn.
The Zambian Government mainstreamed adaptation to climate change in the water chapter of the 6th National Development Plan. This is the result of close collaboration between the Ministry of Energy and Water Development, the Water Sector Advisory Group (WSAG) under the Ministry of Finance and National Planning, and other stakeholders fostered by GWP Zambia.
On March 3rd, 2010, the host of Singapore International Water Week awarded Lee Kuan Yew Water Prize 2010 to the Yellow River Conservancy Commission (YRCC).
The 4th International Ecopolis Forum, sponsored by International Council on Ecopolis Development and Chengde Municipal Government, Hebei Province, China and organized by Ecological Society of China and Chengde Environmental Protection Agency, was held on August 17~20, 2010 in Chengde with over 200 participants from different countries of the world, GWP China is one of the supporters of this forum and Mr. Zheng Rugang, Coordinator, GWP China, was invited to participate.
The Meeting on Collaboration for Wetland Protection in Dongting Lake Basin, organized by GWP China Hunan on December 20, 2010 in Yueyang, Hunan Province, with over 130 people from the sector of water, environment, forestry and education.
