Funded by the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the GWL in a Changing Climate programme was launched in October 2021 in Nepal with the view of accelerating climate-resilient systemic change at the scale and pace required and to help the country to build back better as they emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic. Global Water Partnership (GWP) with its strong presence in Nepal partnered with FCDO and mobilised the required political leadership that is key to catalyse uptake of such strategies by keeping integrated water resources management (IWRM) intact.
The GWL in a Changing Climate Programme in Nepal marked its closure on 29 March 2024. The Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation officially unveiled the Response Strategy for Water Resources Management for Nepal on the day.

The SDG 6.5.1 Support Program is GWP’s flagship program aimed at assisting the national SDG 6.5.1. Focal Points in the organisation and facilitation of multi-stakeholder consultation on SDG Indicator 6.5.1, also known as Stage 1 support. Jakarta 9 November 2023, located at the All Seasons Hotel, the Decision-Makers round table discussion was organized by GWP-SEA and Water Stewardship Indonesia, with support from the FINISH MONDIAL. The Regional Council (RC) meeting is the annual governance meeting of Global Water Partnership South Asia (GWP SAS) held from 9-10 November 2022 in Negombo, Sri Lanka. The two-day planning and progress review meeting was hosted by the Regional Chair, Ms Kusum Athukorala with the support of the GWP SAS Regional Secretariat. This was the first in-person regional meeting to be held after three years of online meetings.
