January 13, 2024, 2023 Annual Regional Work Meeting of the Global Water Partnership China was held in Beijing. It adopted a combination of online live streaming and offline participation.
From October 19-21, ReNOKA is joining the policymakers, academics, and water practitioners at the 23rd WaterNet/WARFSA/GWPSA Symposium at Sun City Conference Centre in Rustenburg, South Africa where they will unpack the regional issues and gaps in water management and identify priorities that require further research and support.
On 11 December, GWP is co-curating the 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆 at COP28 in the #Water4Climate Pavilion together with the Green Climate Fund and French Water Partnership.
The Global Water Partnership Southern Africa, GWPSA, is providing technical support toward the development of 8 national funding concept notes, 3 transboundary projects, and 2 multi-country funding proposals aimed at accelerating WEF investments in the region.
The aim of the exercise is to test the checklist in a stakeholder consultation setting and to collect feedback from national stakeholders’ key aspects of Gender mainstreaming in IWRM.
To inaugurate the “Built Water Storage in South Asia to enhance water security in the region” project, a series of inception workshops targeting the five designated countries, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, and Pakistan are being scheduled for five distinctive dates in January 2023.
The Global Water Partnership’s (GWP) Sponsoring Partners have selected Mr. Pablo Bereciartua, President of the Argentinean Engineering Centre (Centro Argentino de Ingenieros – CAI), as Chair of GWP. The appointment is effective July 1, 2022. Bereciartua currently serves as a member of the GWP Steering Committee.
Soroptimist International of the Southwest Pacific (SISWP), Women for Water Partnership, and Netwwater are organising a digital event on 26 July on the theme "Women, Water, Climate: The Way Forward". The event is a follow-up to a series on the same theme last year.
A series of six national stakeholders' meeting for the planning of the Flood and Drought risk management strategy in the Volta Basin started on 16 November 2022 in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire as the first of the series to be held in the VBA countries.
