In commemoration of World Water Day 2024 and to support the 10th World Water Forum, GWP Indonesia is holding a series of activities through the 5th Indonesian Water Forum. The series of activity started by multi-stakeholders’ consultation in collaboration with Ministry of Public Work of Indonesia and The Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas.
GWP-WA held this Saturday, December 2, 2023 the 11th Partners Assembly under the theme: ''Accelerating the achievement of SDG6 in a context of security crisis in West Africa: Challenges, Innovative Strategies and Contributions of Partnerships''. The event took place in #Ouagadougou, #Burkina Faso under the patronage of the Minister of Environment, Water and Sanitation of Burkina Faso represented by the Director General of Water Resources.
Born in 1934, Dr. Madhav A. Chitale has played a major role in getting India’s decision-makers and strategic planners to think of water as a resource whose quality and availability need to be safeguarded. As a part of the nationwide programmes to develop cover several rivers, Dr Chitale was one of those who originated of the Ganga Action Plan to improve the waters of the holy river. He was also involved in the development of the World Water Council and the Global Water Partnership.
The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean Water Academy for Youth (GWP-C WAY) is back! The 2023 edition of the Academy aims to build on the first, launched in 2021.
In 2022, the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C), along with partner agencies, including the GEF CReW+, UNEP Caribbean Environment Programme and the Cartagena Convention Secretariat in collaboration with the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) and Caribbean WaterNet (the Caribbean arm of Cap-Net UNDP), hosted the first-ever International Online Training Programme on the "Preparation of Shit Flow Diagrams (SFDs) for Caribbean Countries."
On Friday, 11 August 2023 the Regional Steering Committee meeting was held. 16 persons was involved in the discussion representing Regional Water Partnership, Country Water Partnerships, and GWP Organisation represented by a Senior Network Officer for Caribbean and Southeast Asia.
The Federal Government of Somalia has made a concerted effort to tackle climate change challenge through a number of policies, strategies and institutional response mechanisms including the establishment of the National Designated Authority (the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change) to officially liaison and communicate with the Green Climate Fund.
