As part of the implementation of the activities of the project "Integrating Flood and Drought Management and Early Warning for Climate Change Adaptation in the Volta Basin (VFDM)", the VBA in collaboration with WMO, GWP-WA and IUCN organised and held six (6) national technical workshops on nature-based solutions for the development of bankable projects to mobilise funding for implementation in the national portions and at the scale of the entire Volta basin.

The Global Water Leadership Program-Rwanda launched a response strategy aims at strengthening water resilience in Rwanda in the event held on 22 March 2024 at Radisson Blu Kigali. In 2022, the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR), as part of the African Groundwater Program (APAGroP) of the African Ministers' Council on Water (AMCOW), supported the African Groundwater Network (AGW-Net), Ask for Water GmbH, and Cap-Net UNDP, in partnership with the Senegalese Country Water Partnership (PNES), to develop and deliver two online courses on groundwater.
GWP-Central Africa welcomes a new regional chair, marking a pivotal moment in its commitment towards promoting integrated water resource management within the region. The new chair and head of the regional steering committee, Herve Didas Amboulou, was sworn in during the 10th regional general assembly, which was held on December 9th in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
