More than a 120 Members of Parliament, journalists and NGOs from 22 Mediterranean countries met on 22-23 October 2012, in Athens, Greece, and pledged to accelerate their efforts towards de-polluting the Mediterranean by the year 2020.
Representatives from government ministries, NGOs and community-based organisations convened on February 15th, 2012, for the 8th Integrated Water Resources Management Stakeholder Meeting put on by the Water and Sewerage Authority and the Water Resources Agency of Trinidad and Tobago.
On May 18, 2011, a report was launched on improving water resources management in Kaliningrad, Russia.
GWP launched its new Youth Engagement Strategy at Stockholm World Water Week on 25 August. The youth strategy supports the wider GWP “Towards 2020” Strategy as does the GWP Gender Strategy, which was launched in August 2014.
The Botswana SADC Water Week was held from 28-30 April 2015 in Gaborone at the Cresta President Hotel (Journalist training and Youth Forum) and the Cresta Lodge for the consultative forum. During the youth forum, the youth agreed on setting up a structure that will implement youth activities at country level and this will be housed by the Botswana Water Partnership Secretariat.

Organized jointly by GWP-Med and the Lake Ohrid Watershed Committee, with the support of GEF IW:LEARN Activity D2, the International Roundtable will address issues of integrated management of lake basins and the linkages to connected river basin, groundwater and coastal management. The overall aim is the promotion of cooperation for the management of the transboundary water bodies of the South Western Balkan Peninsula region.

The 6th World Water Forum. On 15th March there was conducted special Session “Input of Central Asia to the World Water Progress”, which was supported by GWP CACENA as co-organizer.
The programme aims to integrate water security and climate resilience in development planning processes, build climate resilience, and support countries to adapt to a new climate regime through increased investments in water security.
