As part of GWP-C’s efforts to build greater awareness and understanding of IWRM in the region, it developed this regional case study to provide a detailed look into the IWRM process in Jamaica, highlighting the process of developing an IWRM plan and the challenges involved.

- February 22 to March 22, 2015: The Great Walk for Water (SOS for Lake Chad);

- 6 to 9 May 2015: Steering Committee and General Assembly of GWP-WA partners in Cotonou, Benin.

The Drin River Basin covers Albania, Greece, FYR Macedonia, Kosovo (UN administered) and Montenegro. The Drin River is the connecting body of this water system, linking the lakes, wetlands, rivers and other aquatic habitats into a single ecosystem of major importance. A work programme for the project “Enabling Transboundary Cooperation and Integrated Water Resources Management in the Extended Drin River Basin”, in which GWP Mediterranean participates, was adopted in November.

2010 SADC MultiStakeholder Water Dialogue

The National Water Law, approved in 2009 (see GWP in Action 2009 Annual Report, p. 24), aims to establish a national framework for water management and stipulates the establishment of watershed councils to improve water governance through stakeholder participation.

Sustainable development requires multi-stakeholder partnerships. That is the message of a new report on water security in Africa published by the Global Water Partnership.

In May, 2012, Global Water Partnership China Hebei conducted investigation and studies in four cities and nine counties.
