A specially designed “snakes and ladders” water conservation game developed within GWP-Med’s Zero Drop program, funded by The Coca Cola Foundation, reaches all schoolchildren in Heraklion, Crete.
The International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction takes place on 13 October. It is an opportunity to acknowledge the progress being made toward reducing disaster risk and losses in lives, livelihoods and health. The 2021 edition will focus on “International cooperation for developing countries to reduce their disaster risk and disaster losses”.

Engr. Quamrul Islam Siddique was a prominent alumnus of the Department of Civil Engineering who is a freedom fighter, leader and a modern architect of rural infrastructure development in Bangladesh. He played the leading role in establishing of Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) in its present form. He died of on 1 September 2008 at the age of 63.
