Can the UN 2023 Water Conference help us to re-think how we value water and accelerate progress towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals?
How can GWP support governments to better integrate gender into their IWRM plans and policies to improve country score on SDG 6.5.1? In response to this, GWP-Central Africa organized a multi-stakeholder consultation in Mbalmayo, Cameroon on February 22nd to test the gender checklist developed by the Global Water Partnership (GWPO) under its SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme.
GWP Bhutan or Bhutan Water Partnership was established with the support of multiple of senior officials from the Royal Government of Bhutan. Dr Lam Dorji being the youngest Chair of GWP South Asia served from 2016-2018 at the Regional Water Partnership.
The 2021 edition of the European Development Days (EDD21) will take place on 15-16 June. The event is fully digital, and the theme is "The Green Deal for a Sustainable Future". On the first day, the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme, which GWP coordinates in partnership with UNEP, UNEP-DHI Centre and Cap-Net UNDP, will be featured in a session on "Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) to accelerate progress on the SDGs". For the first time, GWP-Central Africa (GWP-CAf) shared experience from the region during the Gender and Social inclusion across the water-food-climate nexus session of the first-ever Water pavilion of this year’s UN Climate Change Conference (COP 26).
At the U.N.’s Stockholm+50 Conference, GWP and partners explored how the concept of water alignment can enable transformation across stakeholders and sectors, strategies, political leadership, finance, and action, with water as a central driver for sustainable development and climate resilience.
