Kenya Water Partnership coordinated the development of a Catchment-wide Action Plan for the Protection and Conservation of the Ewaso Ng’iro North River Basin. The action planning is part of the pilot project launched by UNEP, GWP and Cap-Net focusing on three target countries (Kenya, Kazakhstan and Argentina)
More than 50 stakeholders representing public institutions, NGOs, international organisations to name but a few participated at the SDG 6.5.1 review process in Lebanon, which has just been concluded with the assistance of GWP-Med.
Malawi has finalised the development of response strategies meant to address major challenges rocking the water and sanitation sector in the country. Picked up the theme of provision of clean and safe water for emergency response and remote areas, the third webinar from the series was held on 7 April 2022, and invited GWP-SEA partner’ FONTO DE VIVO as the resource person. The webinar focuses on the regional issue in dealing with natural disasters and the existence of a high number of remote areas, and how the innovative technology from our partner can provide a solution for these situations.
Sardar Muhammad Tariq, born on 15 May 1939, has over 53 years experience in planning, design,
tendering and construction management of water resources and hydropower development
projects Asia. He was a former Chairman of the South Asia Technical Advisory Committee (SASTAC) and the Regional Chair of Global Water Partnership South Asia (GWP SAS) from 2010 to 2012. Time to time he held the position of Regional Council Member of GWP SAS representing Pakistan and currently holds the position of Executive Director/CEO of GWP Pakistan (Pakistan Water Partnership).
