2021 marks 25 years since Global Water Partnership (GWP) was founded with a mission to foster Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) and – ultimately – to achieve a water secure world. Throughout 2021, celebrations will take place in the worldwide network of 3,000 Partners, highlighting past successes and setting new goals for future achievements.
"The Green Deal for a Sustainable Future" was the theme of the 2021 digital edition of the European Development Days (EDD21) on 15-16 June, a European Commission event. GWP was represented at a high-level panel on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), and at a discussion on the role of water as a connector in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Both discussions highlighted integration between sectors as key to improving water governance.
Cameroon Country Water Partnership (GWP-Cmr) undertook a case study on the extent of plastic pollution in Douala by applying the Source-to-Sea approach.

The IWRM approach is relatively new in Niger and its implementation requires the information, sensitisation and organisation of the parties concerned at different levels (villages, Communes and sub-basin) for the setting up of appropriate bodies to protect and manage water resources with for the socio-economic development at the sub-basin level.
As part of the implementation of the Green Climate Fund (GCF), Readiness Proposal for the Central African Republic, the Global Water Partnership Central Africa (GWP-CAf) is looking for a Project Coordinator. He/She will be in charge of coordinating and managing the project, as well as carrying out analysis on climate finance opportunities, monitoring, and decision-making.
Edit 27 April: Please note that the application deadline for the GWP summer internships was 26 April (the below text is the original call), therefore we are no longer accepting submissions - shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Thank you to everybody who applied!
