13th Asia Pacific Water Forum Webinar. Accelerating progress on IWRM in the Asia-Pacific Region

The Asia Pacific Water Forum (APWF) Webinar is held once every four months, co-organized by the APWF secretariat and its member. The 13th of the series was held on 2 March 2022, picked the topic from the 2021 GWP and UNEP-DHI joint progress report on the IWRM in the Asia-Pacific Region. The report provides the basis for further regional collaboration to take action on the critical next steps needed to work towards achieving full IWRM implementation by 2030.

Niger, national information and exchange workshop on the Convention on the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes

Opened in Niamey on 02 March 2023, the national workshop was jointly organised by the Ministry of Water and Sanitation of Niger and the Secretariat of the Convention (UNECE). It provided an opportunity to inform stakeholders about the Water Convention, to share information on the processes initiated by the Government of Niger to become a party to the Water Convention and to discuss the next steps in the accession process.

Knowledge transfer on drought issues due to climate change for Armenia

Visegrad Fund funded project support transfer of knowledge and lessons learned from the successful cooperation on drought from the Visegrad Countries. Project offers solutions for adapting to increasing severity and frequency of droughts caused by climate change, and for raise awareness on collaborative cross-sectoral drought related management within and outside the V4 region.

"Young people are a very important force for both sustainable development and rational management of water resources. In the West African sub-region, this force is very under-used. GWP is therefore working with organisations at regional and sub-regional levels as well as youth movements to make their voices heard so that they are more involved and sustained in the decision-making processes of the water sector, in the implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement, of the SDG #6 in the West African region. Young people are the successors of tomorrow, and nothing can or should be done without them”.
