The Southern African Development Community (SADC) has reiterated the need for member states to use an integrated approach for the development of water, energy and food sectors, stating that it helps improve natural resource use efficiency and result in accelerated development.
In March 2023, the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) will host the 2nd Caribbean Science Symposium on Water. Its main theme will be "Conservation and Innovation: Changing the Regional Water Paradigm".

The GWP Indonesia's chairman, Dr. Ir. Moch Amron, M.Sc, the chairman of the GWP Indonesia involved as one of the competition jurors.
The Zambian Government has launched an almost USD $6 billion Water Investment Programme, aimed to provide access to clean water and decent sanitation and create hundreds of thousands of jobs by 2030.

As part of the implementation of the activities of the project "Integrating Flood and Drought Management and Early Warning for Climate Change Adaptation in the Volta Basin (VFDM)", the VBA in collaboration with WMO, GWP-WA and IUCN organised and held six (6) national technical workshops on nature-based solutions for the development of bankable projects to mobilise funding for implementation in the national portions and at the scale of the entire Volta basin.
