Capacity development on Green Jobs for Youth is advanced by GEMWET Project partners, with the support of the MAVA Foundation.

With the start of the activities of the Project "Integrating Flood and Drought Management and Early Warning for Climate Change Adaptation in the Volta Basin", a project implementation team is assessing the capacities and needs of national structures for flood and drought forecasting and warning.

On the occasion of International Women's Day on 8 March, we asked 3 young female water professionals from the MENA region to share their own experience about the role of Women in Water Diplomacy, obtacles to their empowerment and what is needed in order to utilise their potential to be catalysts for peace.

GWP will be represented in a 2-day online conference on the topic of women, water and climate on 2-3 November. The event, which is free and open to everyone, is the culmination of a series of webinars led by Women for Water Partnership (WfWP), and its partners NetWwater (NWW) and Soroptimist International of the Southwest Pacific (SISWP). GWP is also one of the sponsors of the event.

Global Water Partnership and Wuhan International Water Law Academy are organising an online engagement session on 27 October for those who are currently enrolled – and those interested in enrolling – in the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Transboundary Freshwater Security. The topic of the session is ‘Does the world need more International Water Law?’

Jakarta, 1 May 2020 - The Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) Pandemic remains a public health emergency of international concern. One way to reduce the outbreak is by maintaining good health and sanitation hygiene practices. This article summarizes the discussion between GWP-SEA and IAP2 Indonesia.

GWP held its annual Network Meeting on 25-26 June 2019. Following last year’s success, the meeting was held in a Follow the Sun format – a 29-hour long, online meeting of back-to-back sessions with all GWP regions. A big topic was the new GWP Strategy 2020-2025, which is due to be launched shortly – the meeting adopted the network's new strategic directions.

The 2020 GWP Network Meeting concluded on 22 October, with over 900 GWP Partners signed up for the virtual event and others watching the Facebook Live feed. The overall theme was ‘Bringing the Change’ in the context of the GWP 2020-2025 Strategy and as the world faces a pandemic.

The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) has worked on water for food issues for over four decades, and therefore the decision to join the Water ChangeMaker Awards as a Knowledge Partner was a happy one, says Claudia Ringler, Deputy Division Director of IFPRI's Environment and Production Technology Division. According to her, all water decisions affect climate resilience in one way or another.
