Activity 6.1 and 6.2:Workshops and capacity building trainings

One of the main objectives of this programme is to move from a crisis management approach toward a risk management-based approach. The preparation of a Drought Management Plan is one of the first steps in this process. The main objective of this activity is to build the capacity of key actors (water managers and farmer associations) to implement the entire process of preparing a Drought Management Plan in their own country.

The organization of four regional workshops for key stakeholders is foreseen, focusing on the development of Guidelines for the National Drought Management Plan

  • 2nd IDMP CEE Workshop; Ljubljana, 8-9 April, 2014
  • 3rd IDMP CEE workshop; Budapest, 2-4 October, 2014
  • Final IDMP CEE workshop; Bucharest, 21-22 April, 2015

Activity 6.3: Peer Review Group

The Integrated Drought Management Programme (IDMP) Peer Review Group (PRG) will provide demand-driven technical oversight and support to the implementation of the Integrated Drought Management Programme. The Peer Review Group acts on demand from countries and the Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe Secretariat. It may also respond to the needs of the Integrated Drought Management Programme management and coordination team.
