Study trip to Burkina Faso, courtesy visits

The Nigerien delegation was received on December 22, 2022 by the Minister of Environment, Water and Sanitation, Dr. Augustin KABORE. The Secretary General of the Ministry, Dr. KOUANDA had received the delegation on December 19. Discussions focused on IWRM and the management of the climate change issue, among others.

Towards the International Women's Day 2020

International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8 every year. The theme for International Women’s Day 2020 is, I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women’s Rights. The theme is aligned with UN Women’s new multigenerational campaign, Generation Equality, which marks the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. On the eve of celebrating, we asked women in the GWP CACENA network to tell us their journeys to become a woman leader in the water sector and how we can collectively tackle the unfinished business of empowering all women and girls in the years to come. The personal stories of GWP women professionals are different, amazing and can inspire everybody.

Launching at COP27: Key solutions to combat climate change

Since the original Rio Earth Summit in 1992, floods, droughts, and storms have affected 4.2 billion people (UNISDR 2012), with the impact on sanitation processes and hygiene receiving little attention.

Lively Debate on Water Governance & Sustainable Financing held during the Stockholm World Water Week 2015

‘Improving water governance for achieving financial sustainability in the Mediterranean’ was the topic of the event organised by the Global Water Partnership - Mediterranean (GWP-Med), within the ‘Governance & Financing for the Mediterranean Water Sector’ project, during the World Water Week in Stockholm, on 25 August 2015. The event - closely related to this year’s theme on ‘Water for Development’ - focused on the needed pro-poor, inclusive and gender-sensitive actions for better governance and on the impact that this can have on the financial sustainability of the water sector leading to sustainable development.
