The Directorate of Water Resources Management and Planning (DGPRE) of Senegal in collaboration with CWP Senegal organised on 22 October 2021 a workshop with the aim of sharing the reports elaborated by the consultants and collecting the opinions of the actors of the water sector on the results of the process of accompaniment to the acceleration of the implementation of phase 2 of the IWRM Plan (PAGIRE 2).
Despite the many challenges encountered in 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Global Water Partnership, Central Africa (GWP-CAf) made great strides in advancing it's mission of promoting Intergrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) accross Central Africa while reiterating the urgency for water security especially in a COVID context.
The Joint Support Programme for Integrated Water Resources Management (PCA-Gire) organized on 12 April 2018, in Bamako, a workshop on surface water quality in Mali. The workshop aimed at reflecting on the problem of river pollution in Mali by identifying the major polluters and innovative solutions to improve surface water quality in the country.
An assessment report on the status of Hygiene and Basic sanitation (HBS) in Benin from 2010 to 2020 shows that the Government is paying less attention to HBS compared to the water subsector and the ministry of Health is not doing the required actions. This report was validated by the twenty participants, actors of the sector and coming from various horizons to the workshop organized for this purpose, on September 24, 2021.
On May 10-11 over 80 experts and stakeholders gathered in Malta from across the Mediterranean and beyond to discuss water challenges faced in the region and suggest Non Conventional Water Resources (NCWR) solutions for a water-secure future, including employment opportunities.
A national workshop on the appropriation of the dialogue NEXUS Water-Energy- Food Security was organized on 02 and 03 May 2018 by the National Coordination of Users of the Niger basin (CNU). The CWP-MALI was represented by its chair, Mr Sylla Mamadou.
The Hungarian national final of the Stockholm Junior Water Prize, traditionally organised by GWP Hungary, was held on 26 May, 2018 in the Grand Hotel Margitsziget in Budapest.
