Regional forum of VBA Stakeholders

    The Volta Basin Authority (VBA) held from August 3 to 5, 2015, in Abidjan, Republic of Côte d'Ivoire the Regional Stakeholder Forum on Governance in the Volta Basin under the theme "Water, source of conflict or cooperation".
    Organized by the VBA in collaboration with IUCN, the meeting gathered the focal points of the VBA, civil society, the six riparian countries (Benin, Burkina, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Mali, and Togo) and resource persons from IUCN, WRCC / ECOWAS, CILSS and GWP / WA.

    Webinar: The AfriAlliance Needs & Solutions Hub

    As part of the AfriAlliance webinar series on how African water and climate stakeholders can be strengthened in the face of climate change, the 9th and final webinar of 2020 will be held on 16 December. The topic is "The AfriAlliance Needs & Solutions Hub". GWP's Head of Communication Steven Downey is one of the speakers.

    GWPSA participates in Zimbabwe Training of Trainers on the NAP

    On the 4th to the 6th of May, 2016, GWPSA contributed to the National Adaptation Plans (NAP) process through its participation in a Training of Trainers workshop in Zimbabwe, with the aim of advancing the Zimbabwe NAP through the NAP Global Support Programme (GSP). The workshop was held in Kadoma, Zimbabwe, and 40 people attended. The participants came from various government departments, which include; Climate Change, Water, Zimbabwe National Water Authority (ZINWA), Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Local Government and Oxfam.

    GWP SEA in Action: Regional Consultation on UN Water Regional Coordination with a Focus on SDG 6

    United Nations Water (UN-Water) coordinates the efforts of United Nations entities and international organizations working on water and sanitation issues. The UN Regional Commissions are mandated to provide recommendations from all regions for a more efficient model for regional level coordination of UN-Water activities, in the context of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable development and with a focus on SDG6.
