GWP Country Water Partnerships met November 6 to start work on a road map for an initiative between the GWP Water, Climate and Development Programme for Africa (WACDEP), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and the Nile Basin Initiative. Participants agreed that WACDEP will be implemented as a joint programme with the UNEP climate change adaptation project on the Nile Basin. GWP Eastern Africa is supporting UNEP to build stakeholder capacities.

GWP will participate at the COP18 in Doha in Qatar, 3-7 December, to continue advocating for the importance of water resources management in adapting to the effects of climate change.

The 3rd International Conference “AQUA 2008” on Water Science and Technology with emphasis on water & climate was held on 16 -19 October 2008, Athens, Greece, by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Dpt. of Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry Laboratory, the Association of Greek Chemists, the Mediterranean Information Office for the Environment Culture and Sustainable Development (MIO-ECSDE) and the Global Water Partnership - Mediterranean (GWP-Med), under the auspices of the European Association of Chemical and Molecular Sciences (EuCheMS).

The last training session carried out within the framework of the implementation of capacity building program on water security and climate resilience by GWP Cameroon from 25^th to 26^th of February 2015 aimed at  equipping participants with skills and knowledge on mainstreaming water security and climate resilience in their day to day functions for climate resilient development. Read more

If left unattended, the twin engines of urbanisation and resource depletion will undermine efforts to achieve and sustain water security: water availability and access will be eroded and conflicts over use will escalate. Integrated Urban Water Management is a way to prevent that, which is explored in this paper. It is a Perspectives Paper, meant to incite a discussion on important issues related to water and development.

As part of GWP-C’s efforts to build greater awareness and understanding of IWRM in the region, it developed this regional case study to provide a detailed look into the IWRM process in Jamaica, highlighting the process of developing an IWRM plan and the challenges involved.

GWP West Africa took part in the regional workshop to validate the sub regional report on the West African process of the 7^th World Water Forum on "Risk and uncertainty management for resilience and preparedness to disasters".
