Associated Programme of Flood Management (APFM)

The Associated Programme on Flood Management (APFM) is a joint initiative of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the Global Water Partnership (GWP). It promotes the concept of Integrated Flood Management (IFM). The programme has been financially supported by the governments of Japan, the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland. The APFM is being developed as a series of regional nodes, starting with Central Europe, South America, Central America, Southern Africa and South Asia.

Overview

The Global Water Partnership of West Africa, whose official abbreviation is "GWP/WA" was established in 2002 by water partners of the west african sub-region. GWP/WA is the regional branch of the Global Water Partnership.

WACDEP North Africa Launch

GWP Mediterranean will launch the Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP) for Northern Africa on 20 December 2012 in Tunis, Tunisia.

GWP at COP18

GWP will participate at the COP18 in Doha in Qatar, 3-7 December, to continue advocating for the importance of water resources management in adapting to the effects of climate change.
