Urgency for a Water Secure World

 

Throughout the planet, a number of issues affecting the availability and state of water resources cause a growing concern. The population is increasing. Pollution is increasing. Development pressures are mounting. However, water supply is not. Water demand by people, agriculture, food production and industry heavily pressurizes the limited water supply of the planet and ecosystems which are also dependent on water.

Global Water Partnership-Caribbean's (GWP-C's) activities and projects are all grounded in the drive to obtain regional commitment towards Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) implementation in the region.

GWPSA invites all the organisations who are committed to the sustainable management of the world's water resources and sharing the same values with us to become active partners of our extended network, so that you can keep up-to-date on water issues and help to create a water secure world. There are many ways to get involved, from simply subscribing to receive news from us to becoming an official Partner.

Publication of the Helsinki University of Technology on the "Water and Development”. This book includes 11 articles that scrutinize the challenges facing Central Asia in areas such as economy, environment, social problems and governance.

The present publication is intended for a wide range of water experts, including decision-makers determining water policy and decisions, which form a course and contents of modern reforms in sphere of governance and water management.
