On 20 December 2021, the Malawi Ministry of Forestry and Natural Resources, in collaboration with the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Water Division, the Global Water Partnership-Southern Africa (GWPSA) and the Malawi Water Partnership convened the Malawi Water, Energy and Food (WEF) Nexus Dialogue to discuss the WEF Nexus concept in the Malawi context and highlight its potential in reducing poverty, enhancing climate change adaptation, and spurring social-economic development in the country.
Water Europe is moving forward with an all-digital edition of its annual conference Water Innovation Europe (WIE) 2020. It will be an online ‘Innovative Water Week’ 22-26 June, with online plenary sessions, digital working group meetings, digital networking and digital exhibition opportunities.

Picked up the theme of provision of clean and safe water for emergency response and remote areas, the third webinar from the series was held on 7 April 2022, and invited GWP-SEA partner’ FONTO DE VIVO as the resource person. In the Drin basin, advancing gender equality in the context of climate crisis and disaster risk reduction is one of the biggest challenges and lack of equal representation persists in both national and local level in almost all Riparians.
On 12-13 December 2022, a regional workshop was held on the theme: "Increasing investments for water security and climate resilience in West Africa: achievements, challenges and opportunities". The regional event was both face-to-face and online for stakeholders from the regional level and other West African countries.
World Water Day, held on 22 March every year since 1993, focuses on the importance of freshwater. For the 2021 edition, UN-Water is leading a campaign about what water means to people, its true value and how we can better protect this vital resource. The conversations gathered will inform a report about what water means to people around the world.
