To mark World Water Day 2021 which was commemorated under the theme ‘Valuing Water’, Central African Republic’s Ministry of Energy and Water Resources Development organized a sensitization workshop for women’s organizations on water resource development on March 20, 2021 in Bangui

March 22, 2022, UN World Water Development Report 2022 “Groundwater - making the invisible visible” was launched at the opening ceremony of the 9th World Water Forum in Dakar, Senegal. GWP China facilitated the launching of the Executive Summary of the Report in Chinese.

The Expert Working Group on Monitoring & Information Exchange (EWG MIE) was used as a platform for transboundary cooperation to discuss action to address the current threat of decreased water levels in Lake Prespa.

GWP organised an online peer-to-peer learning exchange with leaders from its country platforms on 21 January. The event focused on how to mobilise and engage for stronger Country Water Partnerships (CWPs) and other GWP country platforms to amplify GWP's impact. It was also the launch event in a year-long celebration of GWP's 25th Anniversary.

After nominating Global Water Partnership Organization (GWPO) as the implementing partner for the Green Climate Fund (GCF) Readiness program, the Central African Republic National Climate Coordination, through the support of GWP Central African Republic (GWP-CAR), the Ministry in charge of Water and the Ministry in charge of Environment and Sustainable Development organized a national multi-stakeholder workshop on June 22nd, 2021, in Bangui, to present and approve the country’s draft proposal for GCF Readiness programme

Global Water Partnership has been identified as a strategic partner for the implementation of the Regional Partnership on Water and Environment in Central and West Africa known as the PREE project.

GWP is partnering with Community of Women in Water (CWiW), a global network seeking to support women working to solve water issues.

One of the main stepping stones toward the United Nations 2023 Water Conference – the first UN conference dedicated to water in over 45 years – is the 2nd High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, to be held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, 6-9 June 2022.
