The Asia-Pacific Water Summit, also known as the 4th APWS, was already held on April 23-24, 2022, in Kumamoto City, Japan. The event brought together high-level delegates from the Asia-Pacific region, including heads of state and representatives from international organizations, to discuss a variety of water-related issues. GWP actively participated in the conference, providing insights on water and its relation to youth, gender, climate, governance, finance, and the SDGs.
Benin has developed its multi-sectoral National Adaptation Plan (NAP) which covers the eight most vulnerable development sectors, namely Water resources, Agriculture, Health, Energy, Forest ecosystems, Coastal zone, Infrastructures and urban development and, Tourism. CWP-Benin, in collaboration with GWP-WA and WACDEP-G implementing partners in Benin, intends to stimulate innovation for gender equality by supporting the accelerated design and implementation of projects and initiatives that enhance water security and climate resilience through a gender transformative approach. Such an approach would improve access to and control over resources and assets for all within local communities.
