GWP South Asia celebrated the World Water Day 2021, by organising a regional webinar on “Sharing Country Level Experience and Lessons on Valuing Water” on 22 March 2021 from 14.00-16.00 hours (New Delhi time).

The Danish Water Forum organises the 15th Annual Water Research Conference, which starts on 2 February, to be held online over several days with the last session scheduled for 18 March.

Liza Debevec joined the global GWP secretariat in May 2020 as Senior Gender & Water Specialist. This is the first time GWP has a full-time person dedicated to gender, and Liza’s task will be to operationalize the gender dimensions of GWP's 2020-2025 Strategy, and more specifically the GWP Gender Strategy and Gender Action Piece. In this Q&A interview, Liza shares thoughts on her new role: “The biggest gender and social inclusion challenge in every sector, not just in water resources management, is that of access, or the lack of access to relevant resources that women and vulnerable communities face.”

Bucharest, 4 November 2021 - The Danube Floodplain project which was launched to examine how to reduce flood risk with the restoration of floodplains in the Danube River Basin comes to an end this November. For the 2021 edition, UN-Water is leading a campaign about what water means to people, its true value and how we can better protect this vital resource.
