The West Africa partners have approved the designation of Mr. Abdoulaye SENE as the new chair of Global water Partnership West Africa. He is replacing Professor Amadou Hama MAIGA whose second mandate ended. This one of the main decisions of the 10th Assembly of Partners of GWP-WA held on 29 September 2021 in Ouagadougou.
Since 2021, the Global Water Partnership (GWP) has been organising an interactive online series called the “Transboundary freshwater security governance train” together with our partners. Within its first three seasons, 14 online sessions were conducted as a ‘train’ stopping at various locations in the world, with a focus on topics related to transboundary water governance, international water law and water diplomacy. After a short stop, the train is back on track in October 2023 for Season 4 and will ‘travel around’ to focus on various aspects of transboundary water management until the end of the year.

The consortium implementing the Governance Component of the OmiDelta Programme organized on Friday 20 December 2019 a stakeholder information and awareness raising workshop on the charter for good governance in the water sector in Bohicon. Albania has made significant improvements in advancing the normative framework for gender equality in recent years. An online Technical Workshop on Gender Equality (GE) and Sustainable Development in Nexus attempted to discuss how gender is addressed in Nexus sectors’ strategies and policies and bring some concrete best practices on how gender issues can be addressed in development programmes.
