Time to Do It the GWP W.A.Y.

We are happy to introduce the GWP Water Academy for Youth (W.A.Y.). The GWP W.A.Y. is an opportunity for young professionals to realise their potential in the water community, become influencers and leaders, create momentum with key actors, and enhance youth engagement and empowerment in water resources management. The first global activity is a joint GWP, CAP-NET, University of Andres/UNESCO online course, “From Learning to Leading: Beyond the ABCs of Youth, Water, and the SDGs.” Registration opens on 17 August and the course is free.

“Footprints of GWP South Asia: on Mr Sadar Tariq’s eyes”

Sardar Muhammad Tariq, born on 15 May 1939, has over 53 years experience in planning, design, tendering and construction management of water resources and hydropower development projects Asia. He was a former Chairman of the South Asia Technical Advisory Committee (SASTAC) and the Regional Chair of Global Water Partnership South Asia (GWP SAS) from 2010 to 2012. Time to time he held the position of Regional Council Member of GWP SAS representing Pakistan and currently holds the position of Executive Director/CEO of GWP Pakistan (Pakistan Water Partnership).

A new Chair for GWP-WA

The West Africa partners have approved the designation of Mr. Abdoulaye SENE as the new chair of Global water Partnership West Africa. He is replacing Professor Amadou Hama MAIGA whose second mandate ended. This one of the main decisions of the 10th Assembly of Partners of GWP-WA held on 29 September 2021 in Ouagadougou.
