The Green Climate Fund (GCF) was established in 2012 as a financial mechanism of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), dedicated to addressing the climate crisis. The GCF is specifically mandated to promote country-driven, climate-resilient and low-carbon development. With the start of the activities of the Project "Integrating Flood and Drought Management and Early Warning for Climate Change Adaptation in the Volta Basin", a project implementation team is assessing the capacities and needs of national structures for flood and drought forecasting and warning.
