Call for Offers (05/2022/ADA) for the Development of a Project Document for an intervention on sustainable forest management practices and modern biomass production in two pilot areas in the Drin River Basin
Over twenty-one multi-stakeholders met in Yaoundé on December 10th, 2021, to analyze the end of phase implementation of Cameroon’s National Climate Change Adaptation Plan (NAP) which ran from 2016-2020, to propose guidelines to be considered in the updated, gender transformative NAP.
From 04 to 07 January 2022, the CWP Senegal (PNES) through its Chair has carried out a mission to Matam in the framework of the implementation of the component : "Hydro-agricultural development and protection of water resources", of the development program of the Dioulol watershed implemented by the National Company for the Development and Exploitation of the lands of the Senegal River Delta (SAED) through activities to fight against the silting up of the Dioulol river, which constitutes the source of water for a large number of perimeters including Hamady Ounaré and Orkadiérè rehabilitated during the first phase of the project.
On 29-31 March, a global workshop will be organised to take a holistic perspective on the impacts of climate change and extreme weather events on water resource management, both at national and transboundary level, and on water supply and sanitation systems and ultimately people's health.
With over 54 shared river basins in Africa, 15 being in the SADC regions, cooperation in the management and development of transboundary water resources is key to economic growth and integration.
