La historia de 25 años de GWP

GWP celebra 25 años en 2021 y presentamos el sitio web de aniversario gwp25years.org. El lanzamiento tiene lugar en relación con los Días Regionales de GWP (31 de mayo al 3 de junio), una reunión anual del personal de GWP en todo el mundo. El nuevo sitio web es un lugar para capturar la celebración colectiva de lo que la red ha logrado hasta ahora y para mirar hacia el futuro. Es un lugar donde todos están invitados a compartir mensajes y donde pueden ser parte del viaje para hacer que la buena gobernanza del agua sea una realidad para todos.

New Report Offers Solutions to Water and Climate Challenges

Last year the global pandemic exposed how current governance systems are inadequately prepared to address systemic challenges that threaten humanity. Better preparedness can make communities more resilient to large scale threats. On 2 June, GWP launched a report, “Mobilising Change: 10 years of climate resilient water investments”, which is a contribution to implementing transformative development to solve climate change challenges to water security.

CWP-Guinea strategically partnering with Guinean Parliament

The National Assembly of Guinea has created a network on sustainable development, promotion of sustainable development, integrated management of water resources, the fight against climate change and illegal immigration.

GWP at WWWeek At Home

To bridge the gap between the 2019 and 2021 Stockholm World Water Weeks, the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) invited convenors to host a virtual adaptation of their World Water Week 2020-approved sessions between 24 and 28 August. The week goes under the umbrella of #WWWeek At Home. GWP co-convened several sessions.

Building robust and innovative financing and funding mechanisms for water security through an IWRM approach will enable sustainable and more resilient management of our precious water resources. More financing needs to be made available for IWRM approaches and implementation from a variety of sources, including the public and private sectors. How can countries better finance their water resources management?

WEFE Nexus Science Advances Conference

The Water, Energy, Food and Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus Science Advances Conference is held online on 27-29 September. The conference will analyse the role of science as a driver of innovation for the sustainable development of the Mediterranean region, and its interfacing with the policy and decision-making processes.
