Investments for wastewater treatment and reuse in the Middle East & North Africa Region: In the focus at the Stockholm World Water Week

The investment potential in wastewater treatment and reuse in Middle East & North Africa (MENA) was discussed at a session organised by the Global Water Partnership – Mediterranean (GWP-Med) during the recent World Water Week in Stockholm (27 August – 1 September 2017). This was part of the “MENA Focus” set of 4 sessions, led by key institutions in the Region.2017 was the 2nd year that a dedicated MENA Regional Focus was part of the World Water Weeks’ programme, alongside the Regional Focus Days for Africa, Asia and Latin America. In addition to the (co) organization of sessions, GWP-Med is coordinating the overall “MENA Focus”.

GWP at Stockholm World Water Week 2018

Stockholm World Water Week (WWW) is an annual focal point for the globe’s water issues. It is organised by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI). This year, the event takes place on 26-31 August. As in previous years, GWP will be involved in many of the sessions.

The International Day of Women and Girls in Science is celebrated on 11 February - it is implemented by UNESCO and UN-Women, in collaboration with institutions and civil society partners. The day aligns with GWP's Gender Strategy, which addresses diversity and inclusion, social equity, and women's role in the integrated and sustainable management of water resources.

TFTC benefitting to 45,000 individuals in three countries, project review meeting says

From 2 to 4 September 2019 in Lomé and Danyi-Apéyémé-Todome in Togo, GWP-WA and its partners CWP Benin, CWP Burkina Faso, Eau Vive Internationale Togo and the ISW met to review the implementation of the three country microprojects in order to draw lessons and recommendations to be taken into account for the consolidation of the results and the scaling up of the initiative.
