GWP-C Reads is a video production based entirely on GWP-C’s children’s book “Saving Water: The Journey of Two Caribbean Kids to Understanding Water Security.”
During the months of October and November, the National Directorate of Water (DNH) and the Country Water Partnership (CWP) of Mali carried out planned activities as part of the implementation of the SDG 6 IWRM support programme in the country.
An online consultation on the Nexus in Albania held online on 14 December brought together more than 50 stakeholders and experts to discuss how to overcome barriers and coordinate actions to apply the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems Nexus approach, achieving cross-sectoral benefits for all. The meeting, which gathered representatives from key institutions from related sectors, was convened by GWP-Med and UNECE in the frame of the SEE Nexus project, which is supported by the Austrian Development Agency.
Following the workshop to re-launch the PANGIRE Steering Committee held on August 17 and 18 in Cotonou, the Benin Water Directorate, with the technical and financial support of Global Water Partnership West Africa (GWP-WA) and the Benin Country Water Partnership (CWP-Benin) through the Water, Climate, Development and Gender Equality Program (WACDEP-G), launched the work of the workshop of extended consultation of national actors for the assessment of the 2nd phase of the National Action Plan for Integrated Water Resources Management (PANGIRE) of Benin and Proposals of actions for the 3rd phase.
In 2022, GWP-SEA Regional Secretariat decided to develop a calendar of event to ensure all the activities in the region can be implemented accordingly.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) had to be postponed until June 2021, but to make up for the postponement, organisers decided to add a 2-day online event, SIWW Online, on 18-19 November 2020.
The first phase of the project TonFuturTonClimat funded by the Quebec Government implemented in three West African countries (Benin, Burkina Faso and Togo) by ISW, GWP-WA, CWPs and Eau Vive Togo is coming to an end. Launched at regional level in March 2017 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, the project is aiming at developing the climate resilience capacities of rural and peri-urban youth to become agricultural entrepreneurs that contribute to improve the livelihood of their communities in the three countries.
