GWPEA Celebrates International Women's Day 2018

8 March marks International Women’s Day. The global theme for this year is “Time is Now: Rural and urban activities transforming women’s lives”. To celebrate this important day and highlight the theme, GWPEA interviewed Mrs. Sarah Mawerere, Environmental reporter and gender activist from Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC)and asked her the following question: Time is now for quality in water access and management! The youth dialogue for water and climate in Tunisia

Aiming to make the youth’s voice heard in view of integrated water resources management, climate change adaptation and sustainable development, GWP-Med facilitates a youth dialogue entitled “Tunisia Youth mobilized for water and climate”. The dialogue started with a first workshop on 26th December 2017 and is continuing with a second workshop on the 25th May 2018, Tunis, Tunisia.

Young Water Leaders Summit 2018

The Young Water Leaders Summit (YWLS) is a flagship event at the Singapore International Water Week. The 3-day Summit takes place 8-10 July and facilitates interactive dialogues on pressing water issues, as well as networking among young professionals, industry leaders and senior water practitioners.

Guinea, the CWP discuss with visiting partners

The CWP Guinea was visited by a team of consultant working on the evolutions in the Senegal basin transboundary environemental diagnosis analysis developed in 2006 and the need for revising it. The discussions included also how the CWP could play a more active role in the second phase of the IWRM programme (PGIRE) of OMVS, the present state of the Senegal basin, present trends of hydrological data in the basin, the environmental degradation and the Gender mainstreaming.

IDMP, visiting demonstration site in Niger

The Integrated Drought Management in West Africa (IDMP WA) Project Officer visited Torodi, Niger from 13 to 16 April 2016. She was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Niger CWP and the person in charge of communication to visit the demonstration pilot site in Kankantouti, a village of the rural municipality of Torodi.

Caribbean and Central America Join Forces on Rainwater Harvesting

GWP Central America hosted a regional workshop on Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) on 22-23 September in El Salvador. The workshop brought together practitioners from across the region. GWP Caribbean also took part, under the theme “Considerations for Implementing Policies and Practices Related to Rainwater Harvesting and Addressing Climate Change.”

The International Conference on Estuaries and Coasts is expecting for the research papers. All authors of the selected papers will be invited to the event.
