GWP illustrates a powerful NETWORK OF PARTNERS around the world who have firmly contributed to the GWP’s International Women’s Day 2019 (#IWD2019) on March 4 to 9, 2019, across 13 regions. GWP China has warm hands from strong partner organisations promoting gender equality in the lead-up to #IWD2019.
GWP celebrates International Women’s Day (IWD) 2019 on 8 March by joining the global campaign #BalanceforBetter that reflects GWP’s commitment to gender equality.
On 8 March 2019: International Women’s Day falls on 8 March with this year’s theme “Think equal, build smart, innovate for change” which focuses on innovative ways in which individuals can advance gender equality and the empowerment of women, particularly in the areas of access to public services, social protection systems and sustainable infrastructure. Transformations, integrated approaches and new solutions are necessary particularly for advancing gender equality and empowering women on the journey to achieve the ambitious Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In other words, “business as usual” will not be sufficient and should put forward innovative approaches that removes structural barriers and ensures no woman and no girl is left behind.
Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe (GWP CEE) is pleased to announce that Mr. Konstantin Ivanov has been selected as the new Regional Coordinator for Central and Eastern Europe. His appointment is effective from 1 March 2019.
GWP requires the services of a consultant to support project development and research for project preparation partnership. The consultant will also contribute actively to GWP global WACDEP programme and support global climate policy processes and climate finance opportunities.

On 17 September 2018, a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) entitled “Multi-party Recommendations on Water Resources Bill (RUU SDA)” was organized by Jejaring AMPL (Water and Sanitation Network) at Akmani Hotel, Jakarta. Water and Sanitation Network was formed on 8 October 2007 in Jakarta to address the issue of low service accessibility, weak coordination and synergy in the water and sanitation sector. Members of the Network comprises actors and observers in the water and sanitation sector in Indonesia. Discussions in the FGD produced inputs and revisions to the articles in the Water Resources Bill (RUU SDA). To follow up on the results of the discussion, a workshop with the same title was held to present the discussion results to responders and participants from the civil society, NGOs, government stakeholders, working partners and mass media. The workshop was held at The Park Lane Hotel on 20 September 2018.
