Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA)

The Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) is an international conference on central issues of vital importance for global agricultural and food policies. It is held annually in Berlin, however the 2021 edition will be held online on 18-22 January. The theme is "How to Feed the World in Times of Pandemics and Climate Change". GWP's Julienne Roux will be one of the expert speakers on Monday 18 January.

World Toilet Day: Building Toilets Not Always Enough

World Toilet Day, celebrated on 19 November every year, is about inspiring action to tackle the global sanitation crisis and help achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6, which promises sanitation for all by 2030. In a Facebook Live interview, GWP Senior Water Resources Management Specialist Ranu Sinha shares her experience on what it takes to end open defecation – and that building toilets isn’t always enough.

GWP-SEA Engaged Private Sectors to increase IWRM implementation in Indonesia through Indonesia Water Coalition

By the end of 2018, GWP-SEA and the partners in Indonesia has successfully established a stepping stone to better-delivering water management through the formulation of a position paper on the inclusion of community-based water and sanitation program. Most of the recommendation was adopted by the new Water Bill that was enacted in 2019. Following this success, in 2020 GWP-SEA has further its collaboration with the private sectors in Indonesia to become one of the founding members of the Indonesia Water Coalition. To formalize the collaboration the charter signing ceremony was held.

International Day for Biological Diversity

The theme of the International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB) on 22 May 2020 is "Our solutions are in nature". Given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, IDB 2020 is commemorated through its first ever online-only campaign.

International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated globally on 8 March every year. The aim is to highlight women's achievements and promote gender equality. The 2021 theme is "Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world.”
