August 4 -- The High-Level Experts and Leaders Panel on Water and Disasters (HELP) was established to assist the international community, governments, and stakeholders in mobilizing political will and resources. HELP is committed to addressing water-related disaster risk reduction including the present challenge with the COVID-19 pandemic circumstances in hand. The consultation meeting was held to discuss and gain insights on how to practically implement key suggestions proposed in the HELP Principle to Address Water-related Disaster Risk Reduction under Covid-19 Pandemic. The consultation also aims exchanges among decision-makers, experts and practitioners in Asia region on how they can be better prepared for co-occurring disasters on water and health.
GWP-Cmr is looking for a production studio or producer/director to produce a documentary film in High Definition (HD) on fluorosis in Cameroon, highlighting its origins, impacts, partner’s involvement and potential remediation options with a focus on communities within the Mayo-Tsanaga Sub-Basin.
The process to develop a Concept Note for South Africa to mobilise US$10 million from the Green Climate Fund (GCF) kicked-off on 7 June, led by the National Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment and supported by GWPSA, UNCCD, and the Agricultural Research Council (ARC).
World Toilet Day celebrates toilets and raises awareness of the 3.6 billion people living without access to safely managed sanitation. Every year, UN-Water - the United Nation's coordination mechanism on water and sanitation - sets the theme for 19 November, the day of the celebration. In 2021, the theme is 'valuing toilets'.
The Continental Africa Water Investment Programme (AIP) is a pan-African programme transforming the investment outlook for climate-resilient water and sanitation investments on the continent. The goal of the AIP is to mobilise USD30bn in investments by 2030 across Africa, while creating 5million indirect and direct jobs.
