After learning about more than 350 Water ChangeMaker stories from around the world, we are excited to share with you the list of 78 semi-finalists that have been identified by our qualified and diverse technical jury to pursue the next stage in the Awards selection process. While the possibility to submit stories was offered in six languages, a majority of the semi-finalists come to us from South Asia, South America and Central America, with wide representation from 11 other regions.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres has invited leaders to New York on 23 September for one week to boost ambition and accelerate actions to implement the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. GWP will be present during the week and is calling on its network to participate in the climate strikes.
The 15th Steering Committee meeting of the Regional Water Partnership for Central Africa (GWP-CAf) held from 3rd -4th November 2021 followed by the 7th General Assembly on November 5th, 2021, in Douala.

Dr Khondaker Azharul Haq represented GWP South Asia at the Side Event 7 on Powerful Alliance: Multi-stakeholders Platform (MSP) contributions on food and water security processes in Asia held on 3 September at the 3rd World Irrigation Forum (WIF), in Bali, Indonesia.
Joyce Najm Mendez describes herself as a technoxamanist, TEDx lecturer, STEM advocate and social entrepreneur working on the water-energy-food nexus and transboundary cooperation. She is a MSc candidate in Sustainability and Adaptation Planning at the Centre of Alternative Technology, UK, and she has co-founded several organisations in Latin America, tackling mainly sustainability and adaptation-mitigation of climate change. In this article, she shares some of her experiences. She says that “working with young people means investing in the present, and the opportunity for real change in the civilisation paradigm.”
