August 25-30, 2019, GWP had a strong presence at this year’s Stockholm World Water Week (WWW). A large delegation participated in over 30 sessions, and the GWP Strategy for 2020-2025 was launched at a side event. Youth Professionals’ booth – was jointly hosted by GWP and Asian Development Bank (ADB), sharing youth engagement stories and operation model by GWP China, ASEAN, GWPO, ADB youth and water teams, Central Asia Youth for Water Network and Water Youth Network.
Five communes (Avrankou, Bopa, Ifangni, Ouinhi and Pobè) in Benin were supported for good governance principles in their municipalities through an exercise to promote integrity practices in the water and sanitation sector. This exercise was supported by the development and implementation of an integrity action plan for the said sectors.
GWP held its annual Network Meeting on 25-26 June 2019. Following last year’s success, the meeting was held in a Follow the Sun format – a 29-hour long, online meeting of back-to-back sessions with all GWP regions. A big topic was the new GWP Strategy 2020-2025, which is due to be launched shortly – the meeting adopted the network's new strategic directions.
The 2-day Capacity Building Workshop is organised in the context of the SEE Nexus Project that is supported by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and implemented by GWP-Med in partnership with the UNECE.
The Global Water Partnership Organization (GWPO) has accredited Botswana Water Partnership as the official country water partnership (CWP) responsible for leading and coordinating programmes and activities in the country.

The International Day of Women and Girls in Science is celebrated on 11 February - it is implemented by UNESCO and UN-Women, in collaboration with institutions and civil society partners. The day aligns with GWP's Gender Strategy, which addresses diversity and inclusion, social equity, and women's role in the integrated and sustainable management of water resources.
The AIP SDG Investments support programme assists countries to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 of clean water and sanitation for all, while contributing to the achievement of water-related SDG targets in health, energy, food, and ecosystems and boosting job creation interventions.
The Project Preparation Platform was established in 2018 to provide a structured resource for African countries to access continued strategic and technical support in the prioritisation and preparation of climate resilient water projects for financing by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and other climate funds.
