With the support of the GWP, the Water and Climate Network of Central African Youth Organisations (RECOJAC) was able to take part in the 7th edition of the African Water Week, which was held from the 29th of October to the 02nd of November 2018 in Gabon.

With over 54 shared river basins in Africa, cooperation in the management and development of transboundary water resources is a key building block towards regional and economic integration. However, the pace of investment in transboundary water projects in Africa remains very slow hampering progress towards the continent’s economic growth aspirations and 2030 SDG targets.
The celebration of World Wetlands Day (WWD) on February 13th, 2019, marked the launch of GEMWET, a MAVA foundation funded project aiming to the conservation and sustainable development of high ecological value of the lagoon of Ghar El Melh in the Governorate of Bizerte in the North of Tunisia.
The Partnership Secretariat is hosted by the Global Water Partnership’s Water, Climate & Development Programme in Stockholm, Sweden. The Secretariat currently coordinates Partnership activities at the continent level in Asia, working closely with Regional Water Partnerships and Country Water Partnerships, and under the continuous guidance of the founding members including NDAs, DAEs, and Ministries of Water.
