Budapest Water Summit 2019 took place on 15-17 October, and GWP took the opportunity to ask youth about their experience with GWP. Joanna O’Keefe from Poland said that GWP introduced her to a completely new world: “I knew scientific conferences, but now I also get involved with policy making events and political events.”

The United Nations World Water Day (WWD) is observed annually on March 22nd. This year's theme is: Water and Climate Change. One of the ways the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) will be commemorating the Day, is through the launch of its WWD Photo Contest.

GWP is collaborating with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) secretariat and other partners to create a vision and plausible water solutions of a desirable climate-resilient future in 2030 and beyond. The new initiative is called "Water Resilience Frontiers: Pathways for transformational Climate Resilient Water Security in 2030 and Beyond". The initiative is part of the UNFCCC Nairobi Work Programme’s Resilience Frontiers. The UNFCCC is convening a Resilience Lab for the duration of COP25. The Asia Region Online Workshop Supporting the Monitoring and Implementation of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) indicator 6.5.2 on Transboundary Water Cooperation was successfully held virtually on 17 September 2020. GWP is one of the partners behind the workshop along with UN-ESCAP, UNESCO-IHP, and UNECE.

GWP-Med, as key partner to the Cairo Water Week since its launch in 2018, co-organised and facilitated a day-event and two sessions, giving a strong message for enhanced focus on facilitating investments in the water sector, the role of gender in water diplomacy and mobilizing Young Professionals in the fight to meet the SDGs.

The Global Water Partnership - Mediterranean is seeking to hire a Programme Officer, to be based in Athens. The successful candidate will be hired by the Mediterranean Information Office for Environment, Culture and Sustainable Development (MIO-ECSDE), a civil non-profit society based in Greece, in its capacity as Host Institute for GWP-Med.
