The SADC Multi-Stakeholder Water Dialogue is an event organised by the SADC Directorate of Infrastructure and Services, Water Division to provide a forum for practitioners in the region to have a dialogue with water using and water influencing sectors. The underlying objective is to ensure that the interventions in the water sector are well communicated to the non-water sector actors and also create an environment to receive inputs from them. Les participants provenant de chaque pays sont priés de soumettre trois idées de projets qui pourraient potentiellement être développées et traduites en des notes conceptuelles pour des projets de résilience au changement climatique, avec l'intention de les approfondir par la suite en des propositions de projets à soumettre au Fonds Vert pour le Climat (FVC).

Several partners among which the Ministry of Environment, Water and Climate of Zimbabwe and the Municipality of Marondera have come together to help Zimbabwe develop an Integrated Water and Wastewater Master Plan that will, in part, present detailed prioritized investments for the municipality of Marondera, financed by the African Water Facility. This project will also build the capacity of the key sector players, which will in the long term foster an integrated approach in managing the water and sanitation facilities in the country.
In partnership with UNESCO and UNECE, GWP-CAf organized the sub-regional workshop to support the implementation of SDG 6 in Central Africa in Douala, Cameroon, under the chairmanship of the Minister of Water and Energy of Cameroon from 04 to 06 July 2018.
GWP WA and IUCN/PACO have announced the name of the laureates of the fifth edition of the water and environment journalism competition. The topic this year was "Water resources management: examples of good nature - based practices ".
The Summer School „Towards 2030 Agenda: A summer school for climate change, innovation and youth advocacy in water management“ took place on 1- 6 July 2018 at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Warsaw, Poland.
Benin has taken an important step in its efforts to prevent, protect and manage the consequences of climate change that could affect the population in the short, medium and long term. Benin's National Assembly adopted the country's national legislation on 18 June 2018 to: (i) combat climate change and its negative effects and consequences and increase the resilience of living communities (ii) support effective response, adaptation and mitigation measures by setting specific targets for sustainable economic and social development, security and energy efficiency, in accordance with the specific provisions of national and international legal instruments on climate change.
Dr. Monika Weber-Fahr, GWP’s new Executive Secretary has visited West Africa in the last week of June. She had a stay in Dakar, Senegal to take part in the World Water Forum’s Board of Governors’ meeting, and in the Climate KIC strategy meeting.
