From May to July 2018, CWP Benin has done capacity building activities for the users of the artesian boreholes of Mono and Couffo on the introduction to accountability in the management of those boreholes in the framework of the Multi Year Program IV.

Next up in our series of partners speaking about why their communities should submit their change journeys to the Water ChangeMaker Awards, we have two youth organisations. In an energetic and interactive Facebook Live, we spoke with Lindsey Aldaco-Manner, President of the World Youth Parliament for Water (WYPW), as well as Maitreyi Koduganti Venkata, Coordinator of the Water Governance Group at the Water Youth Network (WYN).

This World Water Day, 22nd March, is about tackling the water crisis by addressing the reasons why so many people are being left behind. GWP joins the worldwide celebrations of the day, and shows online support on its newly launched Instagram account.

Water is needed for drinking and irrigation purposes and paradoxically, in Bhutan water shortages occur despite the presence of sufficient resources. In order to provide irrigation water to farmers living in upper slopes and hilltops in Lingmutey-chu who faced issues in accessing water in 2014, a siphon project was initiated by GWP Bhutan/Royal Society for Protection of Nature in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forest in Bhutan. 

The theme for this year's Maji Week Scientific Conference is: Water and Climate Change: Ensuring Water Security for All.

Many activities were carried out in Burkina Faso where the CWP has chosen the Larlé Naaba TIGRE as a Patron early February 2018.

A one-day meeting consultation / engagement meeting on the Water-Food-Energy-Ecosystem (WEFE) Nexus initiative in Nigeria with key stakeholders was organized on 21 February 2018.

A regional GWP delegation led by the chair, Prof. Amadou Hama MAIGA and including the Executive Secretary, Mr Armand HOUANYE and the communication and knowledge manager, Sidi COULIBALY, visited Guinea from 25 February to 1st March 2018.
