The Chair of GP-WA, Prof. Amadou H. MAIGA and the Executive Secretary, Mr. Armand HOUANYE visited Senegal from 16 to 21 Novembre 2020 to support the Country Water Partnership (CWP) that is engaging new actions for a renewed dynamism. The chair of CWP Senegal, Dr. Adrien COLY invited the regional leadership to back the CWP in its efforts for consolidating the actions he has started with his team to strengthen the partnership, build new alliances and engage new fund-raising initiatives.

Since inception in 2018, #TonFuturTonClimat has been implemented in Togo through the Youth Support Project for the Protection of the Environment, Water and Soil (PAJPEES) in Danyi-Apéyémé. To assess the activities already implemented and those in progress, a participatory evaluation was carried out in February.

The Tisza Office of the Middle Tisza Water Directorate (KÖTIVIZIG) was ceremonially inaugurated on 4 November 2014. Yekini Wallen-Bryan is the winner of the first-ever Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) Young Caribbean Water Entrepreneurs Shark Tank Competition. The 25-year-old Jamaican national was among seven (7) finalists in the regional competition and delivered the winning pitch, securing 4,000 Euros.

Global Water Partnership (GWP) organised an online, peer-to-peer exchange with leaders of the country platforms of GWP on Thursday 21 January 2021, focusing on how to mobilise and engage for stronger Country Water Partnerships - CWPs (and other GWP country platforms).

GWP is collaborating with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) secretariat and other partners to create a vision and plausible water solutions of a desirable climate-resilient future in 2030 and beyond. The new initiative is called "Water Resilience Frontiers: Pathways for transformational Climate Resilient Water Security in 2030 and Beyond". The initiative is part of the UNFCCC Nairobi Work Programme’s Resilience Frontiers. The UNFCCC is convening a Resilience Lab for the duration of COP25. The African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD – formerly the NEPAD Coordination Agency), in collaboration with COMESA, AMCOW, AfDB, GWP Africa, and with support from GIZ, convened a PIDA Water Programme Stakeholders’ Workshop in Lusaka, Zambia from 24 to 26 April 2019.

GWP-Med, as key partner to the Cairo Water Week since its launch in 2018, co-organised and facilitated a day-event and two sessions, giving a strong message for enhanced focus on facilitating investments in the water sector, the role of gender in water diplomacy and mobilizing Young Professionals in the fight to meet the SDGs.
